Thanks for checking. Much appreciated. Sounds a lot like my setup.
Start with Windows: minimized to System tray.
Verified: cd art display as enabled.
Unloaded Skin. Exited MusicBee. Re-ran MusicBee. Load skin. Nothing happens.

I had a similarly negative experience with MusicBee as well, just couldn't make it work, even after the very helpful advice given by eclectic-tech:

You should try some more, maybe in the end you'll manage to make it work for you, and if so share the method.
