If your [Tooltip] is actually a meter and not a system tooltip, then the original code will work, though your ToolTipW extend modifier will error out as the parameters to the rectangle will be expected there (I think the extend modifier only works for the rest of the properties, once you've already defined the shape).
I hardly used the combine and extend modifiers, so I have no idea if the extend modifiers work on combines shapes. I imagine they would, since the extend modifiers are just another way to write the attribute and transform modifiers. That being said, the rules that the attribute and transform modifiers obey, will be obeyed by the similar parts in the extend modifiers.
